I am a general practitioner and have had MS for 27 years.

I have remained in practice throughout that time at first walking with a walking stick then within a few years progressing to elbow crutches. Seven years ago my MS had progressed even further and I began to use a wheelchair for 16 hours a day.

I discovered the Genie wheelchair and found I could carry on working. In the surgery I was able to put the wheelchair in the standing position and examine patients on my surgery couch and move around the surgery in the upright position. I was able to drive from the Genie in my adapted car and able to go to educational and training events a considerable distance away. My Genie will also lie me down. I have not had to transfer onto a dentist’s couch for years!

This year my wife and I drove down to the South of France only to find that the accommodation we had booked was quite unsuitable- but my Genie is so comfortable I not only used it all day but was able to lie flat and sleep in it as well.
